Mark Walmsley

DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

With a background in sales, marketing, film, scriptwriting and physical fitness, maybe not being an Estate Agent from day one of my career means I see a bigger picture?

Knowing other businesses and how other industries work has meant I’ve never been blinded by KPI’s and targets that often lead to poor service and unsatisfying customer journeys. If any business should be built around just numbers, it’s not this one!”

Favourite room? So tricky! I love hallways and landings. The first impression when you step into a home is so powerful. I’ve also got a massive fondness for the garden though. Does this count? If we can be outside, then we will be. Our garden was literally a bramble forest when we moved in. The kids loved the trampoline and the sitting areas enable a little sun chasing too. Strangely, North West facing is pretty perfect too as the sun in the afternoon and early evening is the perfect downtime to the day”.

LEGAL SALES PROGRESSION

My career in Law as a Solicitor has given me an enormous advantage. I dealt with legal site set-up, new build, traditional residential sales along with pretty much everything else. Now carrying out the sales progression I can problem solve and see every angle with the best. I love helping buyers and sellers dodge the bear-traps and leading them through the maze.

Favourite room? Got to be the kitchen! It’s the room that combines most of my favourite things – a glass of something nice, good food (although I’ll admit my husband does most of the cooking!) – but the real reason is it’s where the whole family hangs out, chats and talks about their day. Definitely my de-stress space – and easily the most fun.

LEGAL SALES PROGRESSION

With 12 years as a Legal Conveyancer for Law Firms My career in Law has given me an enormous advantage. I have dealt with an enormous variety of clients; new build, traditional residential sales along with pretty much everything else. Now carrying out the sales progression I can problem solve and see every angle with the best. I love helping buyers and sellers dodge the bear-traps and leading them through the maze.

Favourite room? Got to be the lounge! It’s the room that combines most of my favourite things – my favourite sofas that I can sink into, somewhere perfect to enjoy a glass of something nice and a lovely view of my garden. Definitely my de-stress space – and easily the cosiest.

MORTGAGES & FINANCIAL SERVICES

Having known and worked with Mark Walmsley for over a decade now, we’re really pleased to be finally working together.
I qualified as a full Financial Adviser in 1994 at the age of 25.
As one of the youngest Advisers in the field, I had to work harder than most to be accepted and taken seriously.
My no-nonsense approach, knowledge, and ability to understand, and explain complex information into easier, manageable terms, soon offered me the respect from, both industry professionals and clients alike.
I get a great deal of satisfaction in knowing along the way I have helped an array of clients to reach their goals.
I pride myself in the fact most of my work comes in the way of referrals, which is testament to prove, my dedication and determination to do a good job.
Being in the industry for so many years, I have often helped different generations within the same client’s family.
I love spending my spare time with my own family.
I am married and have two grown up children and two grandchildren, all of whom I am extremely proud of.
I enjoy completing D.I.Y. projects, I am also in the process of renovating an old Triumph Stag car and enjoy all the challenges that comes with it.

We look forward to introducing you to Midland Financial Planning.

Favourite room? Got to be my Garden Cabin! I built this back in 2006 and have extended it ever since! It’s now a workshop for my carpentry projects and the front has even become a fully operational bar with running water and a BBQ! I’ve even named it “The Stag Bar & Grill”!

B.SC. MRICS (CHARTERED SURVEYOR)
RICS REGISTERED VALUER – DIRECTOR

I was born in Sheffield and educated at King Edward VII School, Sheffield and following A- levels and a chance visit to the careers office in Sheffield I ended up studying for a part-time B.Sc. degree in urban estate Surveying at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham which was a five-year degree course studied one day a week.
As the name suggests, this was back in the day before ‘Trent Poly’ became Nottingham Trent University and I will soon celebrate 40 years in the profession.
I am married with two married daughters and two wonderful granddaughters to keep me on my toes. It is just as well that I have embarked on yet another diet and fitness routine to try to keep up with them. Apart from my family, my pleasures in life are spending a couple of hours in my shed trying to ‘engineer solutions’, trying to get more or less half reasonable at riding a speedway bike and going on long walks with our Cavalier King Charles pup, Bentley.
In my professional life, I have always tried to do my best for Clients. We try to do things better, promptly, give great Value and make everybody feel Valued. We hope that the work that we produce for Clients is what they always hoped and believed that they had the right to receive from a firm of Surveyors.
I’m very proud of my colleagues. I believe we do a great job in our own way but most of all we don’t take ourselves too seriously and try to enjoy our work and impart that enjoyment to everybody around us.

LEGAL SALES PROGRESSION

B.SC. (HONS) M.CS MRICS (CHARTERED SURVEYOR)
RICS REGISTERED VALUER – DIRECTOR

I’m a Director at Ashmore Surveyors and I grew up in Hinckley, the youngest of 5 siblings and step-siblings. I completed my GCSE’s and A-levels at John Cleveland College before moving to Stoke-on-Trent to study Chemistry and Maths for my Undergraduate Degree at Keele University.
Since leaving University, I have completed a Masters Degree in Surveying (Real Estate) from Northumbria University and I am now a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer.
I grew up with property in the blood as it were as my parents have owned an Estate Agency since I was 14 years old, sparking my interest in housing and I’ve recently bought my second house with my wife. We share our house with our cat and springer spaniel and recently welcomed our first child into the World.
When I’m not working or walking my dog, I have an interest in sports, mainly football but I’m also a big fan of American sports, both basketball and NFL. I enjoy watching NFL games in Wembley and have been to watch NBA games when they are hosted in London, along with watching as many Leicester City matches as possible.
I enjoy working at Ashmore Surveyors, it has been great working alongside Mike, both in the office and out on Surveys and the working atmosphere at Ashmore Surveyors is always a lot of fun. We all work hard and are a good team, but we can also have a laugh, which makes the days more enjoyable.
